Wow, I don't even know if you are going to read this, but that was one hell of an article. I live in rio de janeiro, and i was using google to search for some prices of "churrascarias" when i happened to find this.

Now, really nice of you righting about ALL of the aspects of your journey here. Of course, our city has LOTS of problems, as any other city in the world. But we certainly know how to live, and certainly are one of the most beautiful cultures/people in the world. That's Rio, and I guess you wrote that down really accurately.

Reading this kind of thing makes me feel happy. When I first arrived in the US, I was kind of not well treated at all. There was some sort of, what we call here, the "preconceito". Don't know the word, but literally translating, pre-concept. Anyway, on the end of my journey, i met a few locals (probably in Miami, don't remember) and they asked me if I lived in a Jungle.

It's nice to know that there are some smart/cult people in the world...

I love the pictures and your article. I am planning on going there in a few months time. I hope I saved enough money though. And the carnival rocks, that's something I would like to see.
