Having spent my entire pre-HLS life in Florida, I never had the chance to explore all the sights to see and things to do in the Northeast. I’ve since come to appreciate just how much there is up here, how surprisingly mild the weather is and how close Boston is to all kinds of exciting places for daytrips. Just yesterday, two co-adventurers and I decided to hit the ski slopes in New Hampshire (where we even received a special Harvard student discount). Maybe I’m still new to winter, but there’s nothing quite like being on a snow-covered mountain where you don’t need an iPhone, computer or TV to have a good time and the only worry is staying on your skis and off your rear. The three HLS musketeers even did some pro bono work on the trip, as Matt discussed the privacy issues in the liability waivers with the ski resort personnel. Despite a whole day of skiing, we still were back in time for a fellow classmate’s birthday party—happy birthday Meredith! And if you’re wondering if there are always fun things going on at HLS, you heard it from a Florida Gator, a Nebraska Cornhusker and a Georgetown Hoya. See you on the slopes!
