My post a couple days ago on Law School Prom conveyed the unconfirmed rumor that Russell Brand and Jonah Hill showed up at our party, and lo and behold, after my submission went up on the website I was sent photographic proof! Russell Brand at the Liberty Hotel with HLSers. This is amazing! Yes, amazing that a movie star was at our party, but what’s even more amazing is that someone other than my husband read my blog! I shouldn’t say that. My friend Brian reads my posts, too, and in fact it was a series of forwards started by him that led to me receiving this picture. The only problem is that Brian already goes here. He is, in fact, the student government president, so he’s kind of a big deal. I’ve been to his place—he has many leather-bound books and his apartment smells of rich mahogany. The intended audience of my blog, though, is people who are *thinking* about going here, and as far as that goes, who knows if those people are reading? I did meet a girl named Ellen at Admitted Students Weekend who she said she reads my blogs and sometimes forwards them to her sister, so there’s at least one out there. Two, if the sister is thinking about coming here.
Anyway, I am very excited about the photo. I think the lesson here, folks, is that it’s safe to believe everything you hear. I heard Russell Brand was at the ball, now there’s proof. I heard Jonah Hill was there too, and though I have no proof, by the transitive property of rumor confirmation, I can assure you he was most decidedly there. Unless, of course, some HLS pop culture non-geniuses saw Russell Brand and thought his name was Jonah Hill. . .
Coincidentally, the guy on the far left of the picture linked under Russell Brand’s arm is my friend John. For those of you who have read past blogs of mine (Ellen? You still there?), that’s the same “my friend John” who hosts our reality TV watching group every Wednesday night. It all comes full circle.
