Whatever happened to Robotman?

12-Jun-04

The comic strip now called “Monty” was once “Robotman.” The story is a
sordid one, involving failed merchandising and, er, well, I guess it’s
not that sordid. But it does end on a happy note: Jim Meddick has been
freed from the clutches of the Evil Merchandisers to do whatever he
wants with his strip.

All that is necessary for Garfield to triumph is that good men do nothing

11-Jun-04

Anyone can bash Garfield — the sport has become so egalitarian that there must be a backlash

Jon Stewart: Garfield popular in ’80s, then… not so much

Two observations. Iced Tea is not popular. I met a marketing person who works [...]

I
love storms; the most spectacular weather always follows. This afternoon
was gorgeous after the rains swept through, and our run this evening
was breathtaking. (Well, not literally).

On our way out we saw a flock of geese swimming downriver in a very
straight, very evenly spaced row. I’d seen them doing that yesterday,
with the lead goose honking a regular [...]
