MP, I know you hate Zippy, but recently I’ve enjoyed several of his strips that lambast other, even more worthelss comics. For example, today’s reads:
- 50’s Beach Girl: Don’t let him misunderstand you, Zippy!
- Zippy: Why you lowbrow, know-nothing, Repub-
- 50’s Beach Boy: Shut up! You’re just a babbling idiot!
- Z: That’s it. I’m tired of being “too hip for th’ room”! I’ll read this collection of “Rose is Rose” comic strips & see what people like!
- Z: Boy! It doesn’t take long to adapt my “message” to a wider, mainstream audience!
- Z: Remember me, dirtball? Now how do you feel about absurdity and pseudo-intellectual word play?
- 5BG: Oh Zippy!
- 5BB: Aagh!
- 5BG: – You’re so commercially viable! And your “message” is so deeply embedded in mediocrity, it’s virtually undetectable!!
- Z: If that was meant as an insult, it completely slipped by me!
- Bystander: Wow!
I can’t remember right now which other strips he’s kicked recently, but I’m glad someone’s speaking crap to power.
