Governor Rides Subway

In a bold move to show courage in the face of terrorism, Governor Romney has accepted the harrowing mission of riding one stop on the T:

Elevated public transit security remains in place after the terrorist bombings
in London two weeks ago, and some downtown T stations have additional security
forces this morning after another scare in London, said Julie Teer, Gov. Mitt
Romney’s press secretary. Romney returns this afternoon from meetings in
Washington D.C. and will make address security-related questions at 3:30 pm at
the Park Street T Station. Following his remarks he’ll ride the subway from Park
Street to Downtown Crossing in a symbolic attempt to demonstrate the safety of
the subway system.

Because
of the inherent danger of riding the T between Park Street and Downtown
Crossing T stations, it’s important to downplay expectations that his
activity is only an “attempt.” Riding the T out to Jackson Square would
be entirely insane!
