I watched the sun set behind the buildings that surround my office.
It was a gray afternoon, but for a moment the buildings were
illuminated with a warm pink glow. The light was coming from an oblique
angle and lasted just a few minutes. When I looked up again all was
gray.

The forecast today was for snow and I rode the bike in on a
gamble. The weather people are now saying that the evening will be
clear.

I can’t wait to take the ride home, can’t wait to breathe the fresh cool air, and hear my daughter’s tuneless happy singing.
