–>
- BloggerCon II
- Aggregators + Infrastructure
- AG wants to do a session on RSS
- BitTorrent: allows for the downloading of large objects, way to share files peer-to-peer; users download portions of files, then share
- AG wants a way to do it with enclosures to spawn a download when someone isn’t at his computer more
- puts BitTorrent URL in the enclosure field, AG programmed the aggregator to recognize it as a special case, the aggregator launches BitTorrent instead of just doing a download
- Legal Torrents is an example
- DW hopes it will encourage people to do more with video and audio files
- AG wants to do a session on RSS
- Poster session
- DW brought this up
- suggestion for Sunday?
- academic or commercial?
- AG said having a computer to do demos would be better
- SR described it as an opportunity to meet many different people as they come by to view your work; you talk until their hoarse
- RH?: “It seems to me to be very un-blog like.”
- Party
- Saturday night
- 8 pm until midnight or something
- room with wifi
- attendees hang out and mingle with their laptops
- party after day 1 at the last BloggerCon didn’t work well ’cause it was so short
- the party would not be dinner; people would eat first, then come to the room
- JN: how do laptops fit into this?
- DW: Bloggers always have laptops
- Adam Curry’s session
- Dave needs volunteers
- In particular, he would like some moderators to monitor IRC and the Webcast and knock down any commercials
- Aggregators + Infrastructure
- Mooter, a beta search engine
- try looking for java
- We watched part of Kung Fu Kitchen
- Dinner at the Cambridge Common
