      • (The above link goes to a Yahoo! Group e-mail, which may be restricted to group members.)
      • we need to do more to attract new people
      • special sessions for new bloggers, both on and off Harvard’s server
    • Trackback: why does it work so well between Harvard’s server and some others, but doesn’t work at all in other situations?
      • because
      • It has to do with how the different servers are configured. It doesn’t always work and if often won’t work.
      • JSJ: if a server administrator doesn’t like trackback, that could be a problem if it’s not implemented properly.
        • trackback spam is a problem, so some servers might be configured to keep trackbacks out
        • trackback interoperability is a problem
        • Manila is sensitive; it might pick up trackbacks from other Manila servers, but not too much else
        • JSJ recommended checking Harvard’s server settings
        • Let’s have a trackback interoperability night! JSJ suggested a number of platforms we should investigate.
