After checking out how RepliCheck works, I see no protection of anonymity. Rather, if the copyright report is sent to the P2P user, there's no reason it couldn't be logged, thereby giving Audible Magic a perfect (well, with 98% accuracy) list of all "Registered" media.

Which brings about a second question, how transparent is this list of 3.4 million songs and 10,000 software titles (later quoted as 3.7 million - not that transparent)? Presumably, Audible Magic will be used to disable sharing of positively 'fingerprinted' files. Will audio snippets be registered, thereby blocking fair use? Could Diebold have "registered" their memos, quashing their distribution? There's no mention of the process.

Last, with perfect monitoring of webcasting chart play, jockeys get can ready for pay-per-play fees.
