WiFi File-Swapping

PaidContent links to this article about file-swapping using PocketPCs and wireless.  They also note that people have developed KaZaA Wireless.  Hm, let’s see – people swapping through simple wireless transfers with people they pass on the street, and people start using open wireless hotspots to do their downloading, and then the whole RIAA lawsuit strategy goes to pants. Very, very interesting.

I’m totally surprised that people would get into the aspect of how files are swapped. For example there is one articale below the article, I’m commenting on, that gets into the business of file swapping after commenting on the devices that are used for this purpose. The pocket PCs and wireless could be and should be more profitably utilized if an alternate technology, that is server side processing, is developed. If this is done there would be no need and excuse for downloading since the server would do all the processing after receiving the processing commands from the client. If such a technology was developed a handheld device, that can send text message, could be used to surf the net without having a hard disk and without having any memory.
