It would seem that the most harmful effect of DRM+DMCA is that people, in the long run, will start to become accustomed to not being able to make fair uses.  That, coupled with the sophisticated users ability to self-help and even release un-DRM&#039;d works on p2p networks, seems to trivialize DRM... even in the speed bump sense.

A compulsory or voluntary license regime seems so vastly more beneficial for all, no?</description>
