Maurizio is the director of the Centre for Intellectual Property Policy & Management (CIPPM) at Bournemouth University, UK. He received his PhD in 2000 from Bocconi University of Milan, with a thesis on historical and philosophical foundations of Italian copyright. Ever since, he has been doing research on various aspects of copyright with the aim of developing a right-based understanding of the “information society”. In this perspective, he has also expanded his interests in other areas of law such as privacy and data protection. In 2013 he has published his second mongraph “Copyright and mass digitization” (Oxford University Press, with Stavroula Karapapa). Maurizio is the director of the Centre for Intellectual Property Policy & Management (CIPPM) at Bournemouth University, UK.
