We changed the color of our shutters from a light blue to “Georgetown Blue”. I didn’t want to keep the door the same color and didn’t want to use burgundy cause it seems everyone paints their door burgundy. So, I decided on “Georgian Brick”.

So… what d’ya think????

Yay for Halloween

Anyone who knows me knows that this is my absolute least favorite time of year. Its rainy and raw. My flowers are dying. The leaves are falling off the trees. Surely, the snow (ewww!) is not too far off. What is there to like about it?!?!?!

Okay, okay. There is one thing to like about it! Halloween’s coming!!!!!!! I’ve always been a huge fan of Halloween, even as an adult. I love that its all about the kids. I love that we get soooo many kids at our new home. I love that there’s no great expense like other holidays. But more than anything, I love to decorate my house!!!!!

My favorite:

Couple random shots:

Fun, fun, fun!!!!!

I’m not sure how I failed to miss these in my last post! It scares me to realize that there’s a whole ‘nother generation taking shape in my in-laws family.

These two little ones are our niece’s little girls:

They are just theeee sweetest little things! The baby does not crawl, but instead, scoots on her butt wherever she wants to go (she got this from her mother!) So, her papa and godfather (the groom) decided to get right down there with her and see how they could do:

That picture is worth clicking on, you can almost “see” her making herself move!

See that good lookin’ dude in the middle there??? That would be those girls big brother (and our great-nephew, right?!?!?) Handsome guy, isn’t he?!?!?! The other two are our nephews.

Then, there’s this beautiful baby girl who is brought to you straight from our nephew in Las Vegas:

Uhm, yeah… her eyes really are that blue. I’ve never seen anything like it! Please, lock her up NOW and throw away the key!

We attended our niece’s wedding the weekend before last. It was a wonderful time. Would you please look at how positively gorgeous she is???

I don’t want to take away from that beautiful bride, but d@mn, the centerpieces deserve a shout out, too!

The person with the closest birthday got to take one home. That wasn’t me but luck was on my side as it was my nephew’s girlfriend’s birthday, and since they were flying home the next morning, it didn’t make any sense for her to take them so she let me!!!!! Look at the size of that thing:

Can you say gorgeous???

Bottle “frames”

Y’all may remember me posting awhile back about the idea I saw in a magazine where you take old glass bottles and turn them into photo frames.

I actually did follow through on that project and was recently asked to share photos of them on the Trash to Treasure website that I follow, so I thought I’d share them here as well!

If you click the photo, you can see the enlarged version!

That photo in the middle is from my Senior prom, on the left is a wedding photo (almost 23 years old now, yikes!) and on the right is a recent photo that someone took of us.

This was a fun and really simple (once I found the bottles!) project and I get lots of compliments on them – once the people get over the initial “What the…?!?!?!” reaction when they first see them. My mother even thinks I’m super talented now. If she only knew!!!!!!

Don’t look at me like this:

You know you don’t belong on my dresser!

Well, maybe a little spoiled

Hubby keeps telling me that the birds in our yard are spoiled rotten. Now, how could that be? How can those sweet little birdies that are forced to spend their every moment in the outdoors possibly get spoiled?

Uhm…. what??? So, I ran out of bird food for a day! Apparently, that means its okey-dokey to just fly right up onto the deck and start eating the seeds of my plants!

Would ya look at that little toot??? Sure, dude, come on up. Help yourself. In fact, we’re having steak for dinner. Got plans?!?!?!

Ouch

We spent the weekend re-edging the yard, which was destroyed when the septic system was replaced. We then spread the four yards of mulch.

I don’t even want to think about how sore my muscles would be if I didn’t go to the gym!

New yard stuff

Hubby tells me that if I keep buying yard decorations, we’re going to have to put an addition on our shed in order to store it all over the winter! I can’t help it, though. I think I enjoy decorating outside more than I do in!!!!

I picked up this bird house at a craft fair last November and placed it underneath our deck, by the patio, where it would be covered, in hopes that it wouldn’t weather:

“What an adorable decoration!”, I thought. Only, the birds didn’t see it as just some “adorable decoration”:

Look closely (or click the photo to enlarge) – can you see the nesting in there???

Now, how does one NOT continue “decorating” their yard with all the feathered little friends we’ve made since moving in?!?!?!

Then and now

On Saturday, we celebrated my parent’s 50th wedding anniversary (their anniversary is actually in September but I won’t bore you with the details here on why we celebrated now!)

I got some funny looks while taking pictures of their wedding album, but I have plans, people. Plans!

Okay, the plans aren’t that big. I bought them a 50th anniversary photo frame/album and was thinking that a picture from their wedding 50 years ago might make a nice cover.

And here they are today:

Still together and still smiling even!
