Liver Pills
I read today that West Virginia believes in “God Almighty, Sears Roebuck, Carter’s Little Liver Pills and Robert C. Byrd”
This clears up an old mystery, which I haven’t thought of in years. My mother’s mother used to use a phrase, “He has more [x] than Carter had liver pills”. An example: my gramma had more old-time phrases in her vocabulary than Carter had liver pills.
I was always kinda like, “Huh! Who knew Jimmy Carter had liver problems! Old people sure do know some stuff!” But over the years I heard no other reference to this malady of his.
Today I’ve found out that the pills were actually a sort of patent medicine. They were sold from before her birth until, apparently, the 1960s.
She lived in different times. I miss her.

i read that they had to change the name since it had nothing to do with the liver. they called it carter little pills. but the name was not as catchy so they went under

This is so funny that this info is out here. Just today I used this phrase while speaking with my husband. Who by the way prides himself on knowing EVERYTHING to do with politics. So he said “what in the world did you say”. So I repeated and he said like many of us have. “What does liver pills have to do with Jimmy Carter”. I of course defended the phrase that my father said so many times when I was a kid. It just stuck in my vocabulary. Then I started thinking maybe I should research it and prove to him that my father knew exactly what he was talking about. Amagine my surprise!

They now sell the same formulation as “Carter’s Stimulant Laxative”, which was the only thing it ever did, (make people go, well, you know). The active ingredient is the same thing you find in Ducolax (bisacodyl).

I can honestly say that of all the separate colon and liver cleanses and detoxes available today, Advanced Colon Max was,by a good margin the most residual for me. You Just have to abide by the guidelines and are reasonable with your diet. You don’t just take it, and wolf down a heap of fast food and heavy foods. If you intend to do that, then save yourself the trouble and stomach discomfort. Try again when you are motivated to make real changes. Just my two cents

Peculiar this post is totaly unrelated to what I was looking google for, but it was indexed on the first page. I suppose your doing something right if Google likes you sufficient to position you at the first page of a non similar search.
