This is interesting. I think EU laws are generally much more stringent when it comes to privacy, but I don't see a lot of effort in the area of protecting children online.

What are EU nations doing to educate children about the Creepy Treehouse?

My conact person answered. I made a mistake, it's 12 yo, not 10.

Regarding your question: I don't know it and it seems they don't (want to) answer it.

Actually, I have to ask the folks over at SchülerVZ and StudiVZ - I have no idea if they hired someone to take care for younger children. Will get back to you as soon as I got an answer.

But I know you need to be at least 10 yo to register, which is 5th class in Germany.

Timo,

Thanks for taking time to write this post.

You didn't cover Germany's efforts in protecting younger users from inappropriate content and inappropriate contact. Do sites likes StudiVZ and SchülerVZ provide safeguards to protect children from online predators? Are there any laws in place?

Please do share if you have some information on these.

Good luck in your future endeavors.
