Are you a Digital Native? NHK General TV wants to know.
A few weeks ago, NHK general TV in Japan stopped by the Berkman Center interview our principal investigator John Palfrey about Digital Natives, and caught some footage of the Digital Natives “Reporters in the Field” team in action.
They’re airing a special on Digital Natives in September as part of the program, they’ll be including video blogs made by digital natives about the Internet. Are you a Digital Native? Take an NHK’s digital native quiz to find out.

Yes, I’m a digital native. But honestly, I’m kind of an old fart in the Internet space. I was online in 1993 at a time when we were all connected to old BBS (Bulletin Board Systems).
My most exciting moment was probably New Years eve 2000 when the whole world was holding it’s breath about the Y2K bug.

Yes, we are digital natives because we live a totally digital life! We are going on our third year of traveling the world & we blog/vlog our experiences as we go including how-to info on extended frugal travel, web 2.0 education on the road, and mobile living. We live large on little and travel light, but we are a 3 laptop family! My daughter even takes her piano lessons online from another continent and we take disadvantaged kids with us virtually through a non profit.
We met a film crew in Croatia & my daughter ended up on Japanese TV on an ABC show called “Travel Salad” & another family that follows are blog saw it there and told us she started the show.
This week we are in Sweden eating reindeer meat, crayfish & herring at friends we met on the internet in 1996!
It is a small world…especially for digital natives!

I am definately a “digital native” but i never realized how powerful the internet actually was….
I have used it to create an income stream that pays me weather i get up in the morning or not, and that is a GREAT feeling. I am excited to see how it will progress in the months and years to come.

Well I never thought I’d be called THAT, but I suppose I definitely am a Digital Native haha.
And I’d say I’m a horrible digital native: I text, instant message, market online, and everything else you can do that one comes to rely on with the internet.
I’ve even moved my business and social life to my Blackberry
Good times though. I like the premise of this…
