"I think Twitter has emerged through the clutter as a great communication tool for calls to action, but also think social networking is picking up a great deal of momentum" I aggre this. It is helping us a lot, because we are christians in a muslim country. ( hristiyan ) We can see who is watching us. It is better than Facebook

Great point, Laura.

I think Twitter has emerged through the clutter as a great communication tool for calls to action, but also think social networking is picking up a great deal of momentum.

Take Causecast.org for example. According to their site, Causecast is a platform where media, philanthropy, social networking, entertainment and education converge to serve a greater purpose. Celebs like J-Lo and Jenny McCarthy are on board, and it will be interesting to see the momentum, publicity, and effectiveness of this new social network.

Check out Causecast here - http://www.causecast.org/

I think in addition to blogging we will also see sites like Twitter raise awareness for various causes. For example, December 16 marks Autism Twitter Day, where blogger Bonnie Sayers will use Twitter to showcase a panel that will provide information and answer questions about autism. I think it is pretty interesting to watch how over the past several months, we've moved from Webinars, to blog action days and now to microblogging. I wonder what will be the next evolution.
