The floor boards were rusted out and I had to build new ones out of plywood. The radio had tubes and took a bit to warm up, but sounded great. It had a stick shift on the floor that wrapped around the bench seat. We've since owned a long line of Toyotas and have loved every one. Even though we've only had it a short time, the best seems to be the new Camry hybrid. It has every high tech bell and whistle, has the signature Camry quiet, solid ride and is living up to it's reputation as a fuel saver. The only bad thing is the incredibly poor design of the Sirius sat radio antenna. It's placement on the inside of the windshield has lead to signal dropouts, so we are seeking a solution. I fell in love with that red jelly bean after a couple of months. We drove it until last year. Over 320,000km on the clock when it was sold to one of my sons' friend. I actually regret the sale now. Most of the mileage came from regular trips between Toronto and Pittsburgh - with about 10 Florida trips thrown in for good measure. (When we sold the Previa we had three vehicles - and couldn't get rid of the Yukon XL which was finally sold last week. My mother recently gave us her 1993 Mustang with about 30k on the clock. Had a really nice 72 Kharmann Ghia hardtop - was one of my favorite cars, very reliable, but with no AC not so great for Dallas. Then there was the 1980 Corona Wagon - we got that one up to 235k miles on the first clutch! It was 13 years old when we parted ways. The oldest for me was the 55 - I had it in 87 so 32yrs. The Ghia I had in 96 so only 24 years. Currently no car - a 2006 Vespa GT60! I had 55 chevy 2 door hardtop – they threw in the rust for free!
