WSOP WINNER SUES HARRAH
WSOP is one of the biggest tournaments of the world. The winner of the recent WSOP tournament sued the Harrah’s and the world series of Poker Academy saying that they used her name for the advertising purposes which is obviously illegal as they did this thing without getting the permission from her. The matter was taken into court and is still under consideration. However, this didn’t go one sided for a long time when HARRAH Inc. also declared that Boyer willingly particiapated in this advertising.
Boyer also said that the HARRAH academy clearly mentioned Boyer as an Academy graduate and also “The quickest way to get WSOP Bracelet”. Although the advertisement was published at just one place which is the Bluff magazine. There is no doubt that the magazine is very famous and is enough to spread the news. The reason why Boyer took so much serious action against the academy is because they made an advertisement containing a photo of Boyer.
There was no initial response from the academy when the lawsuit was filed, but the co-owner of Post Oak responded immediately with a very solid proof. He showed the email to the court which was sent by Boyer back in 2007. The email clearly declared that Boyer willingly participated in this advertising thing however, Boyer also came up with solid proofs that nothing ever happened between her and the company. Boyer also agreed that she attended the academy but that was for only 1 or 2 days and they aren’t enough to consider her as a student of the academy. She also said they she never authorized said that joining the academy was the quickest way to get the WSOP bracelet.
It is said that the case will go in favor of Boyer as she holds the strong end. Boyer case is strong from many points and on the other hand the other companies just have the proof of a simple email and nothing else which is surely not enough to win the case. The case will be finalized soon and you will be able to see the whole case results over the Internet easily.
