BetOnSports, the website which was established in 1995 by Gary Kaplan is still one of the biggest gambling websites in the world. Gary Kaplan was announced a 51 month jail. It is said that there are very few chances of early parole because the court is taking this case very seriously. He was presented in front of the judge few days ago to explain everything and to request the judge for a house arrest and credit for his servings. Kaplan admitted for the conspiracy and racketeering charges. He also said that he thought the laws were wrong. One of the many attorneys of Kaplan spoke for 10 minutes in front of the judge explaining the whole donation history of Kaplan. He listed the amounts in figures that how many Kaplan has donated to the charities. The reason for telling the donation figure to the judge was that they might help in reducing the prison time of Kaplan but it looks like it didn’t work very well as Kaplan was still given the normal punishment according to the Law. The whole defense team of Kaplan wanted the judge to reconsider the final decision of the court.Kaplan also said in the court that he apologize to his family as he proved to be irresponsible and obviously his family will face difficulties during the time he is in jail. But everything went in vein when the judge announced 51 months of jail stating that Mr Kaplan knew that everything he was doing was illegal and this is the payoff. Kaplan was also forced to get GED in prison and also surrender 43 million dollars assets to the law. The lawyers of Kaplan requested the judge to send him to the Marion prison new his family. With a very good behavior, it is said that Kaplan can be out of the prison in about one year. But before any decision is made, he will be under 3 years of court supervision. Kaplan is also not allowed to make any kind of transaction related to business during the time he is in jail without first getting the permission from probation officer. And finally the hands of Kaplan were tied again and he was taken outside the court.
