Palms paid $75,000 to Nevada Gaming association as a compensation money for not properly managing the two tournaments which were under its supervision. The remaining $25,000 will also be paid to the same gaming association to cover the cost of investigation. The palms also paid around $450,000 of unpaid prize money of United States Poker League. Although palm didn’t directly participate in the tournament but as the tournament was held in its casino so it is it sole duty to manage everything according to law. This matter was taken into the court and they attorney of the gambling association said that the exercise of Palms have negatively affected the reputation of Nevada. It is said that Palms was unable to manage some of the tournaments back in 2007 which caused problem for many people. The owner of Palms Maloof said that the resort immediately notified the regulators when the problems started arriving and also made the immediate payment of unawarded money of United States Poker League. There were many similar incidents in the way and that is why the matter was taken to the court by Nevada to avoid any other bad consequences and to solve the matter according to law. The Palms didn’t make any delay in making the huge payment as a compensation money and agreed to close the matter. As there is no doubt that this was really a big issue so hopefully Palms will try its best to avoid further consequences while arranging and managing the tournaments. There are still some small matters which need to be resolved before everything comes back to normal. Discussions are still going on and it is very much expected that there will be no tournament held by Nevada using Palms because the last experience between these two parties was not so good. The attorney of gaming association also presented many solid points against Palms in the court which took all the matter in the hands of Nevada and as a result the case was won in no time. A man in Newberry was arrested yesterday for placing video poker machines in his house. He was charged for using illegal video poker machines. The man was arrested on Monday afternoon.
