Impatient Web searchers measure Web sites’ appeal in seconds

A Penn State study released today shows most users of search engines view not only just the first page of results, but only examine the first result on that first page.

‘About 55 percent of users checked out one result only. More than 80 percent stopped after looking at “three results”.’
