Missed targets at the toilet in the middle of the night
may well be a perennial problem, but a southern California company aims
to ease the crisis with the latest in sensory technology.
Arkon Resources, a consumer products maker based in Arcadia, California,
just released the latest version of its night light, LavNav. The lavatory-navigation
light, which retails for $30, is a sensor-studded light that customers
install at the bottom of a toilet seat. The light detects approaching footsteps,
then casts a red shadow on the toilet if the seat is up — a gentle reminder
to women that everything is not as it should be. The toilet shines green
when the seat is down.
