Humans have relied on silk for more than 2,000 years,but
scientists have never been able to unravel the mystery of how silkworms
produced their incredibly strong fibers.
Now, a Tufts team has figured
out how, which could have
far-reaching implications for
everything from hospital dressings to body armor.
