SOS – BloggerCon Beginner’s Sessions
Help! Dave Winer has asked me to organize the Beginner’s Sessions on Day 2 of BloggerCon. Of course, Dave is so busy two weeks before the conference he is virtually unreachable. I hope some of you more experienced bloggers (Dave gave me the assignment because I am a newbie myself) can give me advice about what to include – and what NOT to include. Here is the Proposed Presentation Outline, with a few points I could REALLY use some input on.

Actually it’s not that I’m so busy it’s that I had an Internet meltdown as I’ve been explaining on Scripting News. I’m going to post a link to this from SN so that people can review it. But please don’t panic Michael, there’s almost three weeks before BC, not two.

I am interested in how the relation between public and private spheres transformed with the advent of mass publishing through blogs? Blogs and the internet still belong to the public sphere, but bloggers have transgressed that line by bringing forth a myriad of private issues in their writings. Are there any more space differences remaining?
Please let me know by email if you have any thoughts on this! Thank you.
I am hoping to get funding to attend the event.

You are welcome to borrow from our BlogShop, which is geared to MovableType, but starts general:

I found it useful to do a section on “Anatomy” of a blog so that newies could begin to try and identify features on different blogs (search, archive links, blogroll:

Somewhere there should be addressed that blogging includes a participatory role as part of a community (commenting in other blogs, citing sources, etc)
Good luck at the con, I expect everyone there will be blogging about it
