Thought you'd be on your way by now. Hope all goes well and Gabe shows up. Above address is only while on vacation. Am stunned at what your baby ibook contains. Agree with Frank that you'll wonder what posessed you when you get settled ln the beach. Don't forget to go to the dentist. Love, Mom

I wouldn't count on the RIAA (the MPAA, actually) not looking at BT yet, btw. I actually recieved an email from universal requesting I stop "sharing" a movie that I was downloading. And it's not like I was the "seeder", or that I even had many torrents going at the time (I had 2).

Sadly, that did mark the end of movie downloads for me. Do I really want to risk losing my precious network connection just for the convenience of not waiting for netflix to deliver me the movies I want? Guess not.

Sounds a bit like us when we left Sausalito for the "wilds" of Cornwall (see http://cornwall.backtalk.com/archives/000053.html).

When we packed to leave we had two yard sales that netted $2500, loaned the big furniture and artwork to friends, rented a 5'x5' storage shed and crammed it full, and shipped a 4'x4'x6' palette of stuff by ship.

Two months later when the shipping company called to say that our palette had arrived we looked at each other and wondered what could have possibly been so important that we actually went to the time and expense of shipping it over.

All that to say that the hardest part of leaving is dis-attaching yourself from your "stuff". And two months from now you will look at your Precious and wonder why you went to so much trouble downloading anything at all (besides music of course).

Good luck on your travels,
-- Frank Leahy

p.s. You will make good friends with iPhoto though. And if you haven't bought a camera yet, I highly recommend the Canon EOS 10D with a 28-105mm lens.
