Thank you Michael..Like you, I've found myself, tear in eye, lump in throat, at the loss of a close friend...I mourn the loss of animal friends more than person friends..Strange dude that I am...There's a purity of innocence that is lacking in humans, I think..Nice thoughts...Jackie

Beautifully put, Michael. I have no idea how I wound up on your blog,
but I think I was supposed to read your missive to Chiqui. I can't imagine
life without animals around. What would be interesting would be to share
your life with an animal as long-lived as a human. Our oldest cat, Stormy,
was 20; most of our other cats were around 15 - 18. That's actually a
decent length of time, IMHO, but it would be amazing to live with an
animal for, like, 50 years! I think some parrots live to around that age.
I wonder if anyone has a Galapagos tortoise as a pet? They can live for
200 years or something. Actually, at that agethe tortoise might have a person
as a pet!

amazing pregnancy, and all at once frightening. pregnancy is expected from each parent, but if we look from this one, its weird and frightening. because it does not fallow in the right place.
