In 2008-09, I was a Fulbright scholar in Mexico City, studying US-Mexico cooperation in the drug war with the Instituto Nacional de Ciencias Penales. Prior to that, I worked and studied in Colombia, Bosnia and England, focusing on drug policy, human rights and prison reform. I’m currently in my first year of law school in Cambridge, MA.

Hi, Nina. I really like what you are doing with the blog – it is turning out to be an excellent resource. I would like it even more if you shared your identity and background! As a former reporter, I have always been wary about blogs that don’t have the person’s real identity because I think that there is too much lack of transparency going on in the Internet. Nonetheless, I have put you on my blog list though I would feel more comfortable if I knew more about who you are.

This is the first time that I check your blog and let me tell you that is a really good one. I’m also interested on these topics since I have focus my research on Transnational Organised Crime activities as a global security threat. It will be great to exchange some thoughts about drugs problems in Mexico.
