<a></a>

David:

As usual, my comments are more practical than analytical or based on the Code or other authority. Though I do like Google (especially the "key word" advertising which is a good deal for solos), I don't like the idea of law bloggers posting ads at their site. I don't know whether it's ethical or not, but it just looks cheap (just like I don't like bloggers who pass the hat with "pay pal" requests). As a business matter, I don't know that I'd want to go to an attorney who didn't have the resources to sustain a blog site without collecting ad revenues. In short, to the extent there are ethical issues with posting google ads, I think it's something that can be addressed through the market (ie, attorneys will be deterred from using ads because they will turn off potential clients which will decrease revenues far more than ads would enhance them) rather than bar regulation.
