Before I sneak off for a day in NYC hanging out
with haijin, I’m going to leave you with a taste of
the work of our newest Honored Guest Poet,
Today, her haiku and senryu do the talking:
late supper
the smell of tomato plants
under my fingernails
dappled sunlight —
waiting to hear
you’re safely home
March wind
wondering how I tied my hair
as a child
traffic jam
the man ahead
raises his cup
