The Technical University of Munich* – In Wurzburg, Germany, You Can Just Pay a Professor to Write Your Dissertation – 16

And the anonymous “friends” have come up with even more. A short time ago, a bundle of more than a hundred pages landed in the mailbox of this newspaper. This package was bursting with receipts, notes, and bank statements that were to prove that Professor Keil had allegedly received “contributions” not only in payment for writing dozens of doctoral theses, but also some post-doctoral dissertations as well. On one Post-it were the names of three professors, currently employed, with the comment, “33,000 each.” On one receipt from 2004 that Professor Keil himself is alleged to have made out is the notation, “20,000 euros from XX (name deleted by the editor) for: Gundolf Keil;” for “authoring a dissertation.”

Und die »Freunde« legen noch einmal nach. Vor Kurzem landet auch in der Post der ZEIT ein diesmal mehr als 100 Seiten starkes Konvolut, randvoll mit Quittungen, Notizzetteln und Kontoauszügen, die angeblich beweisen sollen, dass Professor Keil gegen Spenden nicht nur Dutzende Doktorarbeiten, sondern auch einige Habilitationsschriften verfasst haben soll. Auf einem Post-it etwa stehen drei Namen von aktuell tätigen Professoren, darunter der Kommentar: »Je 33.000,–«. Auf einer Quittung aus dem Jahr 2004, die sich Professor Keil selbst ausgestellt haben soll, steht der Vermerk: »20.000 € von XX (Name der Redaktion bekannt) für: Gundolf Keil«, der Verwendungszweck: »Dissertation erstellen«.
