The Federation for Children with Special Needs (FCSN) offers several wonderful workshops throughout Massachusetts, usually at the invitation of the local Parent Advisory Council. To see the list of workshops, with dates and locations, scroll down to the bottom of the following page: http://fcsn.org/pti/workshops/home.php.
The workshops are generally free to attend.
Handouts for some of the workshops offered by the FCSN are located at: http://fcsn.org/pti/topics/topics-home.php.
The handout for their “Basic Rights in Special Education” Workshop which describes special education law, the process, and the rights is a bit tricky to find. It’s at: http://www.slideshare.net/fcsn/basic-rights-in-special-education-2009.
Also take your time browsing though the FCSN web site: http://fcsn.org/index.php. They have a lot of useful information there.
