At least for Transmeta. Even some of the brightest
minds when bunched together cannot fight the power of
a commodity market.
Transmeta gave the good fight but in the long run did
not count on Intel (and AMD) deciding to drop a bomb
right in their targetted niche market. It seems Transmeta’s
technology might last on in some form or another but the
company that spawned it is pretty much gone.
