Hao Wu Released
Posted on July 11th, 2006 by William McGeveran
Hao Wu, the Chinese blogger detained by authorities in the PRC for almost the last five months, has been released! He is a regional editor for Global Voices; Berkman Fellows and GV co-directors Ethan Zuckerman and Rebecca MacKinnon have been writing and advocating on his behalf frequently, along with many others. More details can be found on the Berkman Center homepage here and on the Free Hao Wu site.
Of course, while this is wonderful news, it does not mean an end to the dangers facing bloggers in China or other countries without free speech protections.
