More Problems With British ID Card Plans

The effort to roll out identification cards for everyone in Great Britain continues to hit technological and logistical setbacks, as reported today by the BBC. It is particuarly interesting to watch how the Tories, although they are to the right of the ruling Labor Party, criticize the whole plan based on its cost and “big government” dimensions. Quite a different political debate than we have in the US.
