Changes in Realspace

Info/Law isn’t going anywhere, but I am. In the fall, I’ll take up residence as an assistant prof at Brooklyn Law School, which has kindly offered to put up with my collection of tech cartoons, Legos, and Lotus memorabilia. It will be hard to leave my friends at Wayne State, but I hope to entice them to visit Brooklyn based on its restaurant scene and the lure of free lodging.

Moving isn’t fun, so I’m bringing along help: my fiancee, Sarah, has accepted a year-long position as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Hofstra University School of Law, where she’ll join (albeit temporarily) a terrific group of family law scholars.

And no, I won’t be switching allegiance to either the Mets or the Yankees, particularly given two World Series titles in four years

  1. Great! Look forward to saying hello in person again at some point.

  2. This is very exciting news, and Brooklyn is lucky to have you, Derek! Give my regards to Joralemon Street (after you learn how to pronounce it properly…).

  3. Best of luck with the new assignment Prof. Bambauer. We’ll miss you at Wayne State.

  4. Thanks Tim! It’s really kind of you. I’ll miss you and my other friends from WSU as well.

  5. Wayne’s loss is Brooklyn’s gain, your courses have been a refreshing alternative to the usual law school offerings. I do believe I have learned a thing or two!

    Best of luck!

  6. Best of luck in your new endeavor…Wayne State will suffer with the loss of your instruction. Luckily I was fortunate to study under you for some of my most important courses. I’m sure those of us in the IP community will be hearing more from you no matter where you are.
