   Is there is a possible link between Hispanic high rates of Catholic belief, Catholicism’s rejection of contraception, and the high rates of teen birth among Latinas?

   I’d say definitely, although there’s obviously an incredible amount of absurdity in it. If you’re so pious that you reject contraception, what are you doing having pre-marital sex to begin with?

   I think ignorance of the medical science behind birth control also plays a huge role. A lot of uneducated people, hispanics included, believe that birth control leads to long-term sterility and birth defects.
