The World Summit on the Information Society starts tomorrow in
Geneva. I have no idea whether the proceedings will be
interesting or not. Some predict a blabfest dominated by the
International Telecommunications Union, others a coming together of
voices not previously heard. What I do know is that lots of
interesting people are there–from developing contries in the South, as
well as from the North. What we need are some good, colorful,
candid, critical, and insightful bloggers.

which went online last Monday, and will be reporting live from the
Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (5-8 December) and the World
Summit on the Information Society (10-12 December).
You may remember Daily Summit from the World Summit on Sustainable
Development in Joburg, when Tim Blair described us as “The benchmark by
which blogger coverage of political events may be judged.”
Well now we’re back… with a small team of reporters… posting live from two summits… in English… and also in Arabic.
In the past week, we’ve had stories on the UN taking over the Internet,
AIDS in Nigeria, technology league tables, the Swedish church volunteer
in court because of her website, the economic summit in India, the
release of the stainless steel mouse, and the slaying of the unkillable

We’ve got lots of links on the our main page – and have included as
many sites as possible. Please get in touch if you have suggestions for
making this an even more comprehensive resource.
Also, please forward this email and add a link to Daily Summit to your
site. We’re only live for a few weeks and we need to fight as hard as
possible to make sure people hear about the site. So anything you can
do to spread word to your network would be enormously appreciated.
