From the  New York Times Wednesday morning, this important story:  New Service by TiVo Will Build Bridges From Internet to the TV.
The new technology will allow users to download movies and music from
the Internet to a TiVo video recorder’s hard drive. By John Markoff

This sort of service enables the further development of the media
segmentation/fragementation story that started with cable and is now
rapidly moving to the web..
