Recipe: Tuna Fish

Ingredients:

  • 1 large can tuna in water (white is better; your choice)

  • 1/2 med size onion chopped or cut to small pieces

  • 1/2 tsp turmeric

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 2 Tbs olive or veg oil

  • 1/4 Tsp red pepper

  • 1 tsp urad dhal

  • 1 tsp channa dhal

  • 1 tsp garlic – large clove (optional)

  • 1/2 tsp ginger (optional)

  • 1 tsp coriander (optional)


  • 1/4 tsp mustard seeds

Preparation:

  1. Drain tuna.

  2. Add oil to pan. Turn stove to high.

  3. When hot, turn stove to medium high and add mustard seeds.

  4. When mustard seed begins to pop, add dhals.

  5. When dhal starts to turn red, add onions (and garlic & ginger, if any).

  6. Add turmeric powder (and other spices, if any). Fry.

  7. When onions are translucent, add tuna fish, salt, and red pepper. (Adjust these to your taste).

  8. Stir-fry for a few minutes until done.
