The next time I write a blog post, I’m checking with Vernica first.
So, I went on this huge search for Edward Gorey’s grave last night and today, when Vernica had already posted about it and knew the information I wanted. Had I read her blog first, it wouldn’t have taken two librarians and a phone call to find what I needed.
And had I read the Boston Globe article instead of skimming it and not been so focused on “grave” and “cemetery” and “buried,” perhaps I would have noticed the line near the end that says his ashes were scattered on Sandy Neck.
Don’t worry: I checked Thinking While Typing before writing this post.

Don’t worry, Jessica. I think it is good to have two perspectives on the same topic, and besides, I find it amusing (and perhaps revealing) that the two library people in the group would both approach a question brought up during a casual dinner conversation as a reference inquiry. Plus, I always defer to librarians since, technically, until I have an MLS, in-depth reference questions should be referred to a librarian ;).
