Hello SLA Annual Conference Attendees!

Jim Meier, former librarian at the Sporting News in St. Louis, Missouri, and my mentor from my first conference in Philadelphia in 2000, pointed out to me today that my blog is listed on a handout Miami Herald researcher Liz Donovan distributed at the Internet Update session on Monday, June 9, at 7:30 am. I was so tired at that session, I don’t even think I looked at the handout. (Shame on me!) I imagine a few people from that session besides Jim might wander through here in the next few days. Welcome to my blog! I’m working hard on getting presentations coded and up on the News Division site, so I’m probably not going to be spending a lot of time blogging here this week, but stay tuned. Something I post in the future might be useful.

(Wow! I’m on Liz Donovan’s handout! I’m flattered!)

You know, Liz Donovan has been Director of Publications for the News Division as long as I’ve been Webmaster. Both are 2-year stints. That means that she’s my manager within the division. I had kinda forgotten about that until someone reminded me about that at the conference. Something tells me I don’t have to worry about getting in trouble for blogging on News Division time, though.
