Copyrights and the Internet

The radio show Here and Now did a piece today about copyright, the public domain, and the Internet, beginning with a discussion about the song “Happy Birthday,” which under current copyright legislation will not be in the public domain until 2030, and ending with a discussion of Creative Commons, a way people can opt to share their work on the Internet without copyright restrictions. Some of the Harvard Weblogs use Creative Commons licensing.
