New List for Thursday Night Blog Groupies

Dave set up a Yahoo! Group for our Thursday night blog group meetings. I’m spreading the word per his request. (Wouldn’t it be more appropriate to have a group blog instead of an old-fashioned e-mail discussion list?)

one of my goals is to unclutter my inbox. i am still hoping that blogs will help. i’d much rather see this group experiment with moving traditional mailing list functionality to blogs. the jury is still out if that will buy us anything, but at least we will be able to have an informed opinion then.

I would love the option of a group blog with an RSS feed so that I can read updates via aggregator. Is there a way to push for this as an option?

E-mail lists are quickly becoming the death of me. I belong to 20-30 lists right now, and even with most of the lists set to digest mode, I (and my e-mail system) feel overwhelmed. Today, one message sent to a list (that I must be subscribed to for school) crashed my e-mail program because it was a huge file with attachments and every other e-mail atrocity.

I think as bloggers and people interested in blogging, we should try to move away from mailing list insanity…but that is just my opinion.
