Blog Reading
Je’ has an interesting post somewhere about reading blogs. It started with Halley’s Comment. Halley writes about a study that says no one reads blogs, so she writes about reading blogs and all the blogs she reads. Je’ reads many, many, many blogs. The guy Je’ linked to must also read blogs because he’s responding to Halley’s post, even though he goes off on a tangent about Halley’s point.
Some days, I barely have time to check my aggregator, which includes about six blogs and two comic strips. (Okay, well, I’ve been good about reading it lately because of the comic strips…) The two big obstacles keeping me from reading more blogs are time and having a computer that will allow me to read blogs. (The Netscape I run doesn’t like many blogs and some blogs just don’t seem to like my Mac.) I aggregate a few blogs because I can’t read them on their own site. I *might* be able to squeeze more time out of my schedule, but please oh please don’t make me switch computers.
(If I read Je’s blog and he blogs about the 700+ blogs he reads, am I only reading one blog or am I reading 700+ through him?)
Addendum 11/11: Thanks for the correction, Je’. I thought I was underestimating by saying you only read 70+ blogs.
Addendum 11/14: Michael has also written about blog reading.
