Project Gutenberg Posts 10,000th Book
Project Gutenberg has posted its 10,000th book! The ebook project is based on Michael Hart’s idea “…that the greatest value created by computers would not be computing, but would be the storage, retrieval, and searching of what was stored in our libraries.” He began by entering the Declaration of Independence. The ebooks include public domain materials as well as copyright-cleared materials and foreign language texts. Volunteers type their favorite works into the system.
