Librarians and Information in Business School Programs
I had several interesting discussions this weekend with an executive MBA student. He really understands the important role information and information professionals provide in the corporate environment. He lamented to me that none of the courses in the business school program he’s in have talked about librarians and information professionals as important sources of information or corporate resources. He thinks there should be an entire course about information and information resources in his program. He believes that b-school instructors are missing an important opportunity by not talking to their students about the value of information and information professionals within their organizations.
