Marketing a Blog to Coworkers
So I was at a holiday party today and found myself casually telling more of my coworkers that I have a blog. (Really, I was drinking cranberry juice. I swear it was straight cranberry juice.) Two expressed a polite interest in reading it, much to my surprise.
I’m so used to talking about blogs with different groups of people now that I didn’t even think about the repercussions of telling more coworkers until about five minutes later. Then I realized that it wasn’t the big deal it was when I first started blogging. I was almost petrified that someone at work would find my blog then. And I really should let my coworkers know about my blog because many of my posts are relevant to their professional development, too. So why don’t I? It’s not exactly a secret that I do it anymore, but I’m not publicizing it around the office widely, either. It could be yet another valuable resource/skill I bring to the job.
Gosh, next I’ll be telling my family …
