Planning Ahead: 100th Anniversary of Ted Geisel’s (Dr. Seuss) Birth

LIS News links to some great information and resources for celebrating the 100th anniversary of the birth of one of America’s greatest children’s books authors: Theodor “Ted” Geisel, who wrote under the name Dr. Seuss. The important date is March 2. The main event seems to be “Read Across America,” a program encouraging children to celebrate reading.

There’s a fantastic sculpture of Dr. Seuss and some of his characters in Springfield, Massachusetts. Field trip anyone?
